We are working hard behind the scenes to get the club back up and running and the kids (and adults) back on the fields. But we need some help!
As part of the process to get the club going again, we need to appoint a COVID-19 Safety Coordinator. The COVID-19 Safety Coordinator will be the central point of contact for all COVID-19 matters for our club and assist in the implementation and management of the new safety requirements. We can't reopen for training until we have a person in the role.
We already have some templates ready go, and have applied for funding to assist in the process, we just need a person to help finish the job. If you can help, please contact the club ASAP.

Some very wise words from Football Brisbane...

We are all used to supporting our team mates on the football field, but it is also important to make sure you are supporting your friends off the field as well. Here are 10 ways you can support your friends off the field.

The government has announced that they are going to extend the FairPlay voucher scheme to any family that has been impacted by COVID19. Opening in June, families that qualify can apply to receive a $150 voucher that can be used towards your club sporting costs. If you have already paid your fees, the club can refund the value of the voucher to you once the payment is approved by the QLD Government. An update from Football Brisbane...

To our valued participants in our wonderful game,

It appears as though we are getting closer to being in a position in providing you with more certainty regarding a return to football.

As many of you would have seen yesterday, both the Prime Minister and Premier of Queensland made announcements regarding COVID-19 recovery roadmaps including the return of community sport.

As has been made clear throughout this crisis, while the Federal Government provides national guidelines, it is ultimately the Queensland State Government that will have the final decision on how this will occur within our state.

Our state governing body, Football Queensland has been in constant discussions with the State Government around the return of football. Football Queensland will continue to have these discussions and once finalised, will produce a set of guidelines that will provide certainty to clubs and participants around how operations will look for the recommencement of the 2020 season. It's important to reiterate that until we learn further from Football Queensland as a result of their discussions with government, all football activities continue to remain suspended.

Football Brisbane meets with our clubs on a fortnightly basis to provide them with updates of the latest information and we had our latest meeting during the course of the most recent week. I'd like to thanks our clubs for their cooperative and collaborative approach they have taken in these forums with their primary aim firmly focused on how we get people back playing the game they love.

Once the Football Queensland guidelines have been finalised, we will organise a meeting with our clubs as soon as possible so that they can begin their preparations and football can resume as quickly as possible while remaining compliant with government requirements.

The light at the end of the tunnel appears to be becoming brighter and larger and we're hopeful of getting you running around and kicking a ball as soon as it is possible.

Regards
Rafe Griffin - General Manager
