Our U13 team travelled to Annerley yesterday for their fourth game of the season. The team played a great game and tried their best but were unfortunately on the wrong side of the scoreboard, eventually going down 5-1. The team would like to thank Nick, Isaac and Milly from our U12 team who filled in for a few players who were unavailable due to the long weekend. Kaan was the team’s lone goal scorer for the match and was also named Player of the Match!! Well done to Kaan, the U13 team and those that filled in!! ⚽️⚽️🕷🕷
Our U12 team continued their great start to the season on Saturday with an impressive 5-1 away win against Lions FC!! Goal scorers were Cody Troy - 3 goals and Isaac Scott - 2 goals. Cody Troy was named Player of the Match!! Well done to Cody and the U12 team and coaches!! Go Redbacks ⚽️⚽️🕷🕷
Our Men’s City 7 team played at home yesterday afternoon against Wishart and unfortunately went down 3-2 in an entertaining game!! After falling behind early, to 2 quick Wishart goals, the lads knuckled down and produced 70 minutes of their best football for the season!! Jake McGoldrick added another goal to his season tally while Mal rose late in the game to score a nice headed goal from a corner. The boys did all they could to get a well deserved equaliser but unfortunately the crossbar and Wishart keeper kept them out on multiple occasions!! Club committee member, coach & captain, Mal, was named Man of the Match!! Well done Mal and lads!! ⚽️⚽️🕷🕷
Another good game by our U14’s today at Capalaba. It was a tight contest in the first half on a boggy pitch with the Redbacks taking a 1-0 lead in to half time after a goal by Noah!! The second half was an open affair and the team played some good football and found their groove to come away 7-1 winners!! Goal scorers today were Noah - 3, Ollie - 1, Brock - 1, Harry - 1 and Calin - 1. Today’s Man of the Match was Ryan Tonkiss, who continues to show good improvement as he settles in to his first year with the Redbacks!! Well done Ryan and all of the U14’s!! ⚽️⚽️🕷🕷
